It has been more than a month since I had submitted my resignation in TCS after getting admission in IMI-Delhi.Yesterday(Apr-29) was my last day.I got ready early to make sure that I was not late atleast on the last day.Somehow got the bus and reached the office.Had breakfast with my friends and went to my cubicle.I love my cubicle. It was one wonderful place where I had many good times with Roshit. It was a peaceful cubicle at one corner of my module.Only two of us there.Since it was in a corner,no one really bothered to look what was going on there. Our cubicle was a place for my Cat preparation, playing games, team meetings and chats.Wanted to spend some time in my cubicle on my last day.Sent mails to all my ILP friends, team mates and other project mates bidding farewell. Then tortured Syed to take a photograph of me and Rosh in our cubicle and he ended up taking around 15 photos .It was soon lunch time. There was a T-shirt company which had put up a stall in our office. They conducted a non-stop speaking contest and I won a surprise gift.Good way to end !..Post-lunch was bit hectic for me.I had to complete all the formalities .Had to get lotsa clearances and had exit interview with HR.Finally it was time to get the admin department clearance.I had to hand over my ID card for the same. The dreaded moment had come.Tears almost started from my eyes as I handed over my Id card and got a temp orary one for the remaining time in office that day. After completing the formalities came back to my cubicle.I,who usually tries to get out of the office by 6 everyday, decided to stay till 8.30 .Soon one by one everyone wished me success and left.I went and sat in my cubicle.I recollected all the sweet memories in TCS starting from my ILP.I was getting nostalgic. There is a saying "Don love ur company.Love ur job".But for me,it was opposite.Eventhough I had hated my job sometimes,I have always loved my company.TCS is my dream company and I remember the celebrations after I got placed 3 years back. But now it was time to leave.I will be missing everything-rushing for morning bus, breakfast and lunch with friends, coffee and tea breaks whenever I got a chance, chatting with ILP friends in messenger, sending bulk forward mails,
fighting with Rosh, escaping the eyes of everyone and leaving at 6,Team meetings, onsite calls during which we used to have fun, birthday celebrations, treats,Office cricket and list goes on..I am no more an employee now.Goodbye TCS!..I turned back from my bus to see TCS.It was shining in the night, with lights on,people working as hard as ever towards meeting their deadlines.TCS seemed to say "Men may come ,men may go,but I go on forever".And truly so.Its a legacy that lives. But sooner or later,
TCS,I WILL BE BACK!!

Black Friday
It was our third year in the college. We wanted to do something different…And our guys came up with a wonderful idea-to get similar T-shirts printed for all the guys in our class which gives us a unique identity(Though the idea was adopted from our seniors!)This idea seemed good and everyone agreed…We had a brain storming session to decide the design for the T- Shirt. Each one came up with a different idea. There was some “dialectical materialism” in the process..Finally we agreed upon the design-the T –Shirt should be black in color(symbolizing opposition),it will have a demon or a devil’s picture at the back(with studs for the eyes of the demon!),the wordings at the back should be “We are known for the rules we break”(coined by Biju the great),in the arms of the shirt the words BOES, which stands for Best of Electrical Students(We called ourselves that way-no one accepted it though!!) should be present and so on..…Now we had to give a name for our group so that we can inscribe it in the front side of our T shirt. So that night myself,Balu and Sakthi went to the library for some literary survey and referred dictionaries and encyclopedias(which we had never opened before) to get a name for the group.Since we had decided to have name it in two words we got various words from dictionary and in the hostel we tried out various combinations of words and arrived at 5 best names. We decided to hav a voting in class to decide the name.Next day was the election day for selecting our name.Balu conducted the elections and based on the opinions we selected the name ‘Satanic Saviors’ for our group….The order for the T shirt was given at Tirupur-the textile town and in few days we got our new T shirt..We guys were just too proud to possess it.We decided that we should wear it on a Friday and chose the date as July 23-2004.The D-day arrived. We were all ready to rock the department…We went in our Satanic Saviors T shirt..We christened the day as BOES day..We were in a festive mood.Everyone in the college saw us.No one from faculty or admin asked us anything…We went around the college, posing for photographs with pride. We had great fun that day.We felt as though we had created a coup d’etat of some sort…The reaction to our revolution was evident the next working day….The notice board read “T shirts of all kinds banned in the college”….We said proudly “We are not just known for the rules we break. We were also known for the rules we make”……….
PS:We also faced enquiry for this matter….Not telling about that in detail
Thoughts will flow……
